Approval should focus on decisions
Reviewers should not reread every file to discover what changed. Present technical deviations, missing evidence, pricing exceptions and unusual terms in a concise decision queue.
Set approval thresholds
Route cases based on margin, value, deviation type, customer terms or strategic importance. Routine compliant lines can move quickly while material risk receives the right attention.
Keep the evidence beside the approval
Every approval request should include the requirement, offered value, source documents, cost assumptions and proposed action. Context reduces back and forth and prevents decisions based on incomplete summaries.
Record returns and revisions
A returned line should state what must change and who owns the correction. The next approval should clearly show the revision instead of restarting the entire review.
